Urban trees are multi-talented. They contribute to climate protection by, for example, filtering pollutants from the air or protecting against overheating in streets. But increasingly frequent dry spells are putting them under strain. In the future, Mainova AG will offer a smart solution that supports trees in their performance: a decentralized irrigation system that supplies them with vital water as needed. The system can also be harmoniously integrated into the cityscape as street furniture. To this end, the energy service provider is cooperating with AWATREE, an innovative start-up. Mainova sells and operates the products in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region.
